Software Driven Telepresence on the Rise: BrightCom Extends Offer for Free HD Mobile Video Carts

Huntington Beach, CA – June 29, 2010 – BrightCom, the performance leader in integrated telepresence and video conferencing solutions announced today the continuation of their June offer for a free ClearView High Definition Mobile Video Conferencing Cart solution to businesses in the month of July.

“Due to the success and overwhelming demand we experienced in June,” said Bob McCandless, CEO of BrightCom, “we have decided to continue our promotion for another month allowing more businesses to see the value in our conferencing systems.”

“More and more people are seeing the value in BrightCom’s enterprise class, software driven infrastructure paired with our processor based telepresence and video conferencing endpoints,” continued Mr. McCandless. “With a single ClearView Mobile Conferencing Cart businesses can easily connect to other BrightCom endpoints, SIP enabled systems and remote desktops and laptops. The mobile video cart system is also very conducive for collaboration in any workspace. All of the conferencing equipment is contained in one mobile unit allowing you to create the perfect environment for crystal clear communication in any area.”

Mr. McCandless also stated, “The Visual Collaboration System paired with the ClearView Mobile Video Conferencing allows businesses to manage and maintain their systems effectively as well as interact with other people and data unlike any other system on the market. People can really play with the data and cooperatively work together on projects to accomplish goals and deadlines faster.”

Recently, BrightCom announced their Visual Collaboration System as an enterprise class, conferencing infrastructure reporting that other vendors with traditional Multipoint Control Units (MCU) and firmware based video conferencing infrastructure are harder and more costly to maintain and upgrade. Mobile video conferencing carts with a firmware based unit and MCU infrastructure would “require additional hardware to purchase and maintain outside of an existing enterprise server infrastructure.”

Last week, BrightCom also announced new reports on their video conferencing and telepresence solution carbon emissions, comparing them to physical business travel using airlines and automotive vehicles. The study found that businesses using BrightCom as opposed to traveling reduce half of their carbon emissions. The report stated that because BrightCom endpoints such as the ClearView Mobile Video Conferencing Carts are able to connect to a wide variety of BrightCom endpoints, SIP enabled endpoints and remote endpoints via the web, only one is necessary to reach out to a wide audience of people, thus minimizing the amount of power required to operate the system and the amount of carbon produced.

BrightCom’s ClearView HD Mobile Video Conferencing Cart solution will include a 52 inch single display with mobile cart system and CVC 1000 codec for high definition video and audio broadcasts. The system will require a Visual Collaboration System HD server to power meetings with video, audio and data conferencing.
